Do you think that given the fact that you mic the speaker right on the cone, and that you turn the amp up real bright and turn your tone knobs on your guitar way down low, that when people ask you for the exact settings on your pedals and stuff that those settings don't really translate to a more common setup?

Putting the mic in the cone will get you the biggest sound, but it's too hairy unless the guitar tone is rolled down. Lots of guys keep the tone up on the guitar, mic the paper and compensate by turning up the bass and treble on the amp with very little mid, and that sounds cool too, but I've been doing it the reverse way for such a long time that it just feels like "my tone".

Wie konnte sich der Mann denn so ohne bleibende Schäden zwischen Top und Box durchschlängeln

Ich bekomme keine so guten Ergebnisse, wenn ich das Mikro zu nahe an der Mitte der Lautsprechermembran postiere.
Live kann das aber die nötige (?) Presence bringen.
Im Studio ist es ja wünschenswert, möglichst mehrere Signale bis zum Endmix zu bewahren (eher mittig, eher aussen, versch. Speaker, versch. Mikrotypen).

Hey Tom,

deshalb bin ich ja so pingelig, wenn man ein SM57 dorthin packt (Mitte) ist das eigentlich zu krass, na ja....

Muss ich mit völlig zurückgedrehter Klangregelung mal probieren, aufnehmen und mit EQ bearbeiten.

Der Scotti gleicht ja auch Hals und Stegpu klanglich sehr stark an, der Sinn ist mir allerdings nicht so klar, wahrscheinlich Spielgefühl.....???

Ich kann da kaum erkennen welchen (Hals/Steg) SC er gerade nutzt.

Ach Breni,

ich habe zu Scotti ein sehr gespaltenes Verhältnis, der spielt schon toll, der Sound ist ziemlich interessant (zwischen Holdsworth und Beck), trotzdem kann ich immer nur 2 Minuten davon ertragen. Dieses Hebelgewichse!

Seine Ansichten finde ich ziemlich schlimm, Großmutter hat das ja schon mit Erzmuckertum gut beschrieben.

Brena, ich zünde jeden Abend für dich eine Kerze an und schicke ein Gebet zum Himmel, damit du nicht so verhärmt wirst und so komische Musik machst!

SH ist ein Ketzer:

I don't like the JCM series at all, 800 or 900. The DSL 100w sounds much better - I've rented one many times when I couldn't bring my Suhr.
